The Northumberland OPP has released an update on their investigation into the sudden death of a man in Colborne this past Tuesday.
The investigation is now being pursued as a homicide.
On Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at approximately 7:00 p.m., OPP officers and Northumberland Paramedics arrived at the scene on County Road 2, east of Colborne, and found a man inside an outbuilding with obvious signs of trauma and no vital signs.
On Saturday (yesterday) a postmortem examination was conducted in Toronto. The OPP is currently awaiting results for the confirmation of the identity of the deceased.
Members of the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit and Central Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS), in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario say the investigation is active.
