Driver charged
Late Saturday night at 11:45 p.m., Belleville Police stopped a vehicle on Old Highway 2 for speeding. Police identified the driver as 33-year-old Eric Sellers of Coe Hill. Sellers is a disqualified driver stemming from previous criminal driving related convictions. He was arrested and charged with operation while prohibited as well as speeding. He will appear in court on August 6, 2020.
Teenager arrested on warrants/ drugs
Early this morning (Sunday) at 1:05 a.m., Belleville Police checked a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on Yeomans Street. While speaking with the driver, police identified a 17-year-old girl from Belleville who was wanted for several charges including theft of a motor vehicle, failing to attend court, and breach of recognizance. As police approached the girl, she fled. After a brief chase, she was arrested. Following her arrest, police located drugs on the girl. She was later released with a court date of August 11 to answer to the charges. Given her age, her name will not be released.
