A man and woman have been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a single vehicle crash in Prince Edward County just before 6 o’clock this morning (Saturday).
The collision with a tree, on Loyalist Parkway near Consecon, caused a brief fire which was out quickly and a woman managed to get out of the vehicle.
However the driver, a man, remained trapped and unconscious inside the vehicle.
He had to be extricated by county firefighters.
OPP and Hastings-Quinte paramedics responded to the scene.
Initially an Ornge air ambulance was also called in.
