Belleville police gave a guy a break last night. Officers responded to a home on Moira Street West at around 10 o’clock last night (Friday).
There, they discovered a broken window and a soaking wet man inside.
He was arrested for break and enter and mischief.
However, after investigation, police learned the man had been bear sprayed in a fight and in desperation broke into the house to cool himself off with water.
Officers had some sympathy for Michael Witherden and only charged him with mischief and breach of probation.
