In August 2019 a break and enter occurred at a business on Highland Avenue and a number of cheques were taken.
On May 2, 2020, a male attempted to cash one of these cheques at a cheque cashing business.
Video was obtained by police and the male identified.
On May 23, 2020 at 2 a.m., officers observed a vehicle on Dundas Street East without taillights.
Officers stopped the vehicle and observed the driver, who they knew had conditions on him from a prior incident to be on a recognizance.
Collin Kaseke a 47-year-old male from Stirling was arrested and charged with one count of breach of recognizance by being out past his curfew. He was released on an undertaking with a court date of July 16, 2020.
The passenger was identified as Darryl Verner a 37-year-old Belleville male. He was the male in the video cashing the stolen cheque. He was arrested and charged with one count of fraud under $5000, one count of uttering a forged document, one count of possession of property obtained by crime, and two counts of breaching his probation.
He was also released on an undertaking with a court date of July 16, 2020.
