We’ve heard many inspiring stories as we cope with this world pandemic and this one is right up there.
Belleville’s Betty Ingram Wonnacott led an eager group of 20 women off the tee at the Opening Field Day at the Bay of Quinte Golf and Country Club Wednesday night. Betty is 96 and this was her 69th year doing so at Bay of Quinte facility.

Ingram Wonnacott was among the first inductees into the Belleville Sports Hall of Fame in 1988. She holds 30 Ladies Club championships at Bay of Quinte as well as an Ontario Senior Amateur championship and runner-up at the Canadian Senior Ladies Championship. She has represented Ontario at many national and international golf championships. A year ago she had hip surgery but still made it to the annual Opening Field Day.
Ingram Wonnacott’s teammates were grateful for the clinic she put on, the coaching that she offers and the inspiration that she is.
