Centre Hastings council is following provincial guidelines regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and has cancelled all major municipal community events scheduled for this summer.
These events would include Canada Day, organized sports leagues, summer camp and aquatic programs.
Meanwhile, preparations are being made to open the skate park in Madoc by June 17 but playgrounds will be closed.
In another COVID-related issue Centre Hastings council has deferred the payment dates for local taxes and water/sewer bills for an extra month.
