After 17 days without a reported new case of COVID-19, there is one new case in our region.
The Hastings and Prince Edward Public Health Unit has announced a 43rd case of the virus which was confirmed yesterday (Tuesday).
This case was attributed to community spread.
Currently 30 people have recovered and five have died bringing the total number of active cases to eight.
There are 183 probable cases.
So far 3.6 per cent of the population in the two counties have been tested for the virus for a total number of 6,148 tests completed with 5,786 coming back negative. There are 319 tests pending.
Meanwhile, in Northumberland County, the number of positive cases remains at 16 with 15 people having recovered and one being cared for in hospital.
