An inmate from the Regional Treatment Centre at Millhaven Institution has died.
Regional Communications Manager Kyle Lawlor confirmed Leo Mallet died in custody of apparent natural causes on Monday.
Mallet had been serving a sentence for break and enter with intent and non-capital murder since April 1971.
Correctional Service Canada have notified next of kin, as well as the police and coroner and the circumstances around the death will be reviewed.
