Two new doctors have signed on to work in the area.
Docs by the Bay Physician Recruitment and Retention Program made the announcement on Wednesday.
Dr. Angela Lambrakos will be opening her family medicine practice at the Lakeview Family Health Team in Brighton this fall.
Dr. Lambrakos graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Hons. BSc. in Health Studies and received her medical degree from St. George’s University in London. She is currently completing her family medicine residency at McMaster University in Hamilton.
Brighton Mayor Brian Ostrander says they are fortunate to be able to welcome Dr. Lambrakos to Brighton and they look forward to her providing health care to their community for years to come.
Dr. Olena Shershen is expected to open her family medicine practice at the Lakeview Family Health Team in Trenton this summer.
Dr. Shershen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and health Sciences from York University and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical University of the Americans in Nevis, West Indies. She completed her family medicine residency in 2016 at the University of Toronto and has since been practicing throughout the GTA and surrounding regions.
Docs By The Bay Chair Aleesha Camp says they are very excited to have Dr. Shershen join the medical community in Quinte West and she is the seventh physician recruited by the program since its inception in early 2018.
Both doctors will be taking patients registered with Health Care Connect.
