Some local small business owners feel like they’re not being treated fairly by upper levels of government when it comes to funding to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Brandy Calvert-Ringlemann owns clothing store Off The Hook in Downtown Trenton and says her small business doesn’t qualify for guaranteed funding that larger businesses get, and the money being distributed through local organizations won’t go far enough.
Angela Wildish owns clothing store Vivacious in Downtown Trenton and says supporting shops at the grass roots level will make a big difference for larger companies as well.
Both Calvert-Ringelmann and Wildish noted as well, that even with shops like theirs able to open next week, they still need the help to pay vendors, rent and other bills, that have piled up over the last eight-plus weeks.
