Quinte West OPP are beginning focused patrols on a section of Highway 2 in Quinte West for the rest of this month and into June.
Officers will be in the area between Wooler Road and Stoney Point Road as part of an effort to reduce collisions.
Data from recent years found an increased number of collisions on this stretch of roadway, especially on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Police will be enforcing all aspects of the Highway Traffic Act, with a focus on the big four: impaired driving, distracted driving, speed enforcement and seat belts.
The OPP are also asking motorists to keep an eye out for motorcycles and cyclists now that the warmer spring weather has arrived and they are once again sharing the road.
