COVID-19 statistics for Hastings Manor in Belleville indicate that it has had one death, and that one resident who tested positive is now in hospital.
A report to the Hastings County Long Term Care Committee on Wednesday also showed five employees at home are recovering from the coronavirus.
Long Term Care Director Debbie Rollins says, “It has been 22 days since there have been any declared positive cases. That is good and speaks to the good work everyone is doing in the home.”
Rollins also reported the province has suspended the occupancy target for the home during the pandemic.
As a result of this procedure, the manor has 26 empty beds. Rollins emphasized that all employees are tested for COVID-19 every day, on all shifts.
In her report Rollins emphasized the connection with families of the residents, “We continue to provide regular updates via email to our POA / family member of our residents. This has proven to be very efficient to ensure the same message and updates on the home are provided to everyone at the same time. Individual POAs are contacted for specific resident concerns as per our normal protocols. Our physicians have been speaking with our COVID positive family members directly on a regular basis.”
