The Belleville Police Service responded to 60 calls for service from May 11, 2020 at 5 a.m. to May 12, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Theft
On May 11, 2020 at approximately 6:42 p.m., officers attended a west location for a report of a stolen bicycle. On arrival, police recognized the suspect from previous police involvement. Officers arrested the male for theft under $5000 and possession of stolen property. Officers also learned that the male was currently on three separate probation orders. Twenty-six-year-old Aaron Woods of Belleville was charged with theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime and three breaches of probation. Mr. Woods was released on a Form 10 with a first with a July 16 court date.
On May 11, 2020 at approximately 7:56 a.m., police attended a north end location regarding vehicles that had been entered by unknown persons overnight. Various items including gift cards were stolen from vehicles sometime overnight. Belleville Police would like to remind the public to lock their vehicles as both vehicles reported to have been entered were left insecure.
