It’s a record nobody wanted. A new low temperature record was set today(Saturday) in the Quinte region.
According to readings taken at CFB Trenton the mercury dipped to minus 3.1 degrees Celsius at around 6 a.m.
That’s a bit colder than the previous record of minus 1.7 degrees on a May 9 set back in 1966.
The cold was topped off with occasional sleet/snow squalls later in the day.
