The Belleville Police Service responded to 67 calls for service from May 8, 2020 at 5 a.m. to May 9, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
On May 8, 2020 at 8:42 a.m., police investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Harmony Road and Bronk Road. At 10:11 a.m., police investigated another two-vehicle accident in the area of Bell Blvd. and North Front Street. At 7:34 p.m., police responded to the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Golfdale Road for the third two-vehicle collision of the day. None of the accidents involved injuries and in all three, drivers were charged with failing to yield to traffic on a through highway. They were issued provincial offences notices under The Highway Traffic Act.
City Police also report a relatively busy 24-hour period ending at 5:00 a.m. on May 9, 2020. Police did respond to several incidents that ended peacefully with police intervention. Those incidents included numerous noise complaints, disturbances, suspicious persons and vehicles, traffic complaints, neighbour and family disputes, animal complaints, and calls to assist ambulance.
