It is the fourth straight day without a confirmed case of COVID-19 locally but a fifth person has died.
Hastings Prince Edward Public Health Unit spokesperson Karen LaRose says “Sadly, we have lost another long-term care resident due to complications associated with the virus.”
She continued to say the Health Unit offers their sincere condolences to the person’s friends and family for their loss.
The Hastings Prince Edward District Health Unit says the number of cases remains at 43, with the number of probable cases sitting at 188.
There are two declared outbreaks in long-term care facilities in Hastings and Prince Edward counties.
One person is in hospital and one in the ICU.
There have been 3,930 people tested for the virus, with 3,586 of those coming back negative for a positivity rate of 1.2 percent.
In Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge there are 155 confirmed cases and 14 of those are in Northumberland County.
