The Belleville Police Service responded to 60 calls for service from May 5, 2020 at 5 a.m. to May 6, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Attempt Theft from a Motor Vehicle & Breach of Bail Recognizance
On May 5, 2020 at approximately 5:30 p.m., city police were called to a residence in the Octavia Street area in regards to a theft in progress and a male suspect who was seen going through a motor vehicle. City officers arrived on scene quickly and were able to arrest the suspect.
Twenty-seven-year-old Aaron Edwards of Belleville was charged with one count of Attempt Theft Under $5000 from a Motor Vehicle and three counts of Breach of Probation. None of the items were damaged or taken in the attempt theft and Mr. Edwards will attend the Belleville Ontario Court of Justice on June 25, 2020 to answer to his charges.
