Tyendinaga Police have released more information following this weekend’s incident involving a lengthy negotiation.
Shawn Hiddleston of Belleville will appear in court today (Monday) to face charges of forcible confinement, unlawful possession of a firearm, threatening, weapons dangerous, resisting arrest and failure to comply with an undertaking.
On Sunday morning, Tyendinaga Police and OPP were called to a home on Iona’s Lane where the 31-year-old allegedly wouldn’t let people leave the home.
Police Chief Brant was able to get Hiddleston to leave the home unarmed to meet police in the driveway.
When officers attempted to take him into custody he fought violently say police and after an extensive scuffle he was arrested.
A firearm was seized and no one was injured during the incident.
