The Canadian Armed Forces will hold a formal ceremony later this week at CFB Trenton, for all six members killed in a helicopter crash last week and to recognize the return of Sub-Lieutenant Abbigail Cowbrough’s remains.
On Sunday, Cowbrough’s body was taken off the frigate HMCS Fredericton during a ceremony in Taranto, Italy.
The deaths of Captain Brenden Ian MacDonald, Captain Kevin Hagen, Captain Maxime Miron-Morin, Sub-Lieutenant Matthew Pyke and Master Corporal Matthew Cousins were also recognized during the ceremony.
The City of Belleville has lowered the flag at city hall to half mast in honour of the six fallen service women and service men.
