Prince Edward County is launching a new program that aims to keep the public up to date about municipal projects and initiatives.
HaveYourSay.TheCounty.ca allows the public to provide input on projects in a controlled and moderated environment.
Mayor Steve Ferguson says residents can use this online platform to share their views and opinions about matters that impact them in addition to public meetings, council meetings, deputations and in-person discussions.
Some features include forums, surveys, question and answer sections where staff can respond to inquiries from the public, a space for the public to generate ideas and real-time polling.
The municipality is launching the consultation tool with two initiatives:
- To support public consultation on planning applications once a file comes before the County for municipal review
- To provide a resource for County businesses looking to access resources and information for both immediate response and longer-term recovery from COVID-19
Within the next couple of weeks, the tool will also support a road service level consultation. Further projects will be added in the coming months.
People can log on to HaveYourSay from any computer, tablet, or mobile device.
The municipality purchased the platform using modernization funding provided by the Province of Ontario.
