Local MP and Conservative Leadership candidate Derek Sloan says he is not questioning Theresa Tam’s loyalty, but does believe she should step down.
The HL&A member came out with the statement Wednesday night, after a Toronto Star article, which quoted unnamed Ontario Tory MPs demanding Sloan apologize for recent comments on the national Medical Officer of Health.
Sloan suggested Tam was spreading misinformation about the COVID-19 pandemic and asked if Tam was “working for Canada or working for China.”
The article went on to suggest if he did not apologize, he may be kicked out of caucus, or possibly the leadership race.
