The Docs of the Bay Physician Recruitment and Retention Program is asking residents to shine a light high and bright on Friday, May 1.
May 1 each year in Canada is recognized as Doctors’ Day and celebrates and highlights their expertise and dedication to patient care.
This year, as Doctors’ Day falls during a pandemic, the Ontario Medical Association is asking Ontarians to turn on their phone flashlight and hold it high for five minutes starting at 9 p.m. from their window, balcony, front porch or driveway.
There is also a social media campaign using the hashtags #DoctorsDay and #ShineALightFOrThem as well as a website, www.doctorsday.ca
Docs of the Bay Chair Aleesha Camp says they want to thank all of the local doctors for their dedication, care and commitment to our community on a daily basis.
