It’s always good to make a good first impression and a couple of first year student athletes at Loyalist College certainly did that.
The Lancers named their male and female “Rookie of the Year” recipients.

Alyssa Prinzen from Carrying Place had an immediate impact with the Loyalist Lancers Women’s Soccer team.
Loyalist Athletic Director Jim Buck says Prinzen was strong in the classroom, was a wonderful teammate who played with heart and was fair.

The Male Rookie of the Year is Ebenezer Teklezgi from Toronto.
Teklezgi is a guard with the Lancers basketball team where he averaged almost 15 points a game.
The 6’3″ Teklezgi was also named to the OCAA East Division All Rookie team.
