To support those working to keep the public safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Tim Hortons delivered free coffee and baked goods to frontline workers across Prince Edward County on Tuesday.
Paul and Valerie Massey, owners of the Picton and Wellington Tim Hortons restaurants wanted to give thanks to those working on the frontlines during this crisis.
The first stop on the delivery run was Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, where a small group of staff met the Tim Hortons team to receive goodies and pose for a physically distanced photo in front of the hospital. Paul and Valerie’s small gesture during this difficult time made a big difference to our health care professionals, perking them up as they re-entered the building.
Tm Hortons began their coffee delivery initiative on March 18, 2020 with their first stop at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. Since then, the coffee truck has been making deliveries across the country.
“It’s a small gesture to say thank you to those making a big impact during this uncertain time,” said Paul Massey, owner of the local Tim Hortons. “During a time when hours are long and stress is high, a hot cup of coffee can make even the slightest difference for many. On behalf Valerie, myself and our staff in Picton and Wellington, thank you!”
The coffee was brewed fresh from the Tim Hortons store on Main Street in Picton and at 9:30 AM the team deployed. PECM Hospital, the Prince Edward County Fire Department and area nursing homes were among some of the deliveries made.
