The Belleville Minor Football season is the latest local sporting casualty of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 8-team league featured clubs in Belleville, Trenton, Madoc, Campbellford and Bancroft and was set to begin this week and run until June 20.
Spokesman Gary Parcels said it was a difficult decision to cancel the season however they need to prioritize the health and safety of their players, coaches, fans and their families.
Parents that have registered their son or daughter for the 2020 season should contact their team coach or manager for a full refund.
