Belleville city council will discuss giving hotel, motel, Airbnb, and bed and breakfast operators a break from the 4% Municipal Accommodations Tax at its virtual meeting Monday afternoon.
The COVID-19 pandemic has decimated the tourism and hospitality industries and their revenue streams have collapsed.
Council will consider options such as deferring some MAT taxes and allowing businesses to not pay the tax at all for a few weeks.
