An annual Quinte area clean up event is being postponed due to COVID-19.
Organizers of the Quinte Trash Bash say they’ll be pushing back the event until further notice, to ensure the safety of residents and volunteers.
Over the past 20 years, volunteers have helped clean up roadsides, parks and sidewalks across the region, with thousands of people taking part in recent years.
A City of Belleville press release suggests people can still do their part to beautify the area by picking up litter in their neighbourhoods while they’re out for walks during this time, but if you do you should wear gloves or use a garbage picker if you have one and of course, be sure to wash your hands thoroughly when you’re done.
