Prince Edward OPP say some people still aren’t getting the message about closing non-essential businesses, or limiting large gatherings, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Officers had been called to three separate incidents in recent days including a nail salon in Picton that wasn’t supposed to be open on April 8, along with gatherings on County Road 15 in Sophiasburgh Ward on April 10 and on Downes Avenue on April 12.
In all three cases, police issued warnings about defying the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act and notified local public health authorities and no charges were laid.
Police say while it might be inconvenient, it’s important to follow emergency orders to help flatten the curve of COVID-19.
