Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint regarding an aggressive driver on Highway 28 at approximately 10:30 a.m. Monday morning.
Officers located the vehicle and clocked it travelling at 155 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.
The driver was also found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Jennifer Cooper (age 49) of North Kawartha Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration – 80 plus
- Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs
- Assault a peace officer
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
- Stunt driving in relation to excessive speed
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on June 23, 2020.
