An OPP Tactical Response Squad backed up traffic yesterday (Saturday) on the bridge in downtown Campbellford. The armed officers surrounded a vehicle around 3:30 in the afternoon.
Andrew Hibbert, 42, of Trent Hills was arrested. Two others were released unconditionally.
Hibbert was charged with attempt murder with a firearm, robbery with a firearm, and possession of a dangerous weapon.
The charges were laid in connection with an incident March 24 where a man was dropped off at Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police are still looking for another suspect from that incident. He is 23-year-old Kimroy Peters.
