The Belleville Police Service responded to 55 call for service between April 11, 2020 at 5 a.m. and April 12, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Motor vehicle collision
On April 11, 2020 around 1 p.m., police attended an accident involving two vehicles on Dundas Street East. Both airbags had been deployed and EMS attended to treat one of the occupants for minor injuries. A 37-year-old driver was charged with failing to yield to traffic. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Arrested on warrants
On April 11, 2020 at 3:35 p.m., officers met with Quinte OPP officers who had arrested a 43-year-old Bancroft man on the strength of warrants held by the Belleville Police Service. The charges include Break and Enter, domestic assault, domestic mischief, and uttering death threats. He was held for a bail hearing on April 12. His name will not be released.
On April 11, 2020 at 5:30 p.m., officers located a 14-year-old youth on Russell Place who was wanted on outstanding warrants by the Belleville Police Service. He was held for a bail hearing. His name will also not be released.
Alarm call
On April 12, 2020 at 12:04 a.m., police received an alarm call at the construction site of the condominiums being built on Dundas Street West at Coleman Street. Officers set up containment and three men were observed running on the top floor. One ran east and was arrested, another ran north to the top end of Mary Street and was captured, while the third remained in the compound and was arrested. In the end the trio were all charged under the trespass to property act and received provincial offence notices. All three are local men.
