There was a fatal collision Friday night at 10 p.m. on Highway 7 just outside of Marmora.
Centre Hastings OPP, Marmora and Lake fire fighters and Hastings-Quinte paramedics repsonded to the scene.
Police say a car heading west left the roadway, entered the ditch and struck a tree. 58-year-old Robert James Gilroy of Huntsville, who was alone in the vehicle was extricated from the wreckage and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The highway between Booster Park Road and High Shore Road was reopened earlier this morning following the investigation.
