Local home builders and others in the construction industry are doing what they can to keep adding to the housing supply while helping health care providers during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The president of the Quinte Home Builders’ Association John-Ross Parks says despite having to delay planned projects, construction companies are working hard to finish buildings already under construction as quickly as they can.
Parks adds they’re doing so while following strict safety guidelines to keep workers safe.
The association itself has provided hand sanitizer to construction sites throughout the area when needed.
Many companies have donated masks and other supplies to Quinte Health Care and other community groups as well.
Meanwhile, Parks says it’s too early to tell exactly how the delay in new construction will affect the local construction industry.
