A novice driver was hit with some pretty hefty charges on the weekend.
Northumberland OPP report officers stopped a car on the eastbound 401 on Sunday around 2:30 p.m. after it was measured travelling at 189 km/h.
Officers also discovered the driver had 482 grams of marijuana in the vehicle.
The 19-year-old from Port Hope was charged with racing a motor vehicle and driving with cannabis readily available.
The driver had their licence suspended and vehicle impounded for seven days.
They will appear in court in June.
