10 Quinte Red Devils get drafted – Updated

A record 10 members of the OMHA  champion “AAA” Quinte Foley Bus Lines Minor Midgets were selected by Ontario Hockey League teams in the annual Midget Priority Draft.

8 were selected in the first four rounds.

Leading the way is right defenceman Donovan McCoy of Belleville.  McCoy will be playing close to home as he was selected in the first round (15th overall) by the Peterborough Petes.

McCoy was the OMHA – ETA Player of the Year after scoring 15 goals and 41 assists in 66 games on the Red Devils blue line this season.

In round two (29th overall) the Mississauga Steelheads took centre Owen Beck of Port Hope.

One pick later fellow centre Dalyn Wakely, also of Port Hope was selected by the North Bay Battalion.

Belleville native Trevor Hoskin was selected by Owen Sound in Round 8.  Hoskin is a centre who has been playing with the Kingston Jr. Gaels MM AAA team.
