It was one ride a tractor trailer driver wasn’t expecting.
Frontenac OPP report shortly after 3 p.m. on Friday, emergency personnel responded to the eastbound 401 between Montreal Road and Hwy 15 after a transport crashed through the guardrail and ended up in the Cataraqui River.
The driver swam to shore and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The Ministry of Environment was called as the guardrails ruptured the fuel tanks.
The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses are asked to contact the OPP.
