Officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 24 calls on Wednesday.
The calls varied in nature, however one of the calls resulted in officers laying charges.
Just after 3:00 p.m., officers were called to a County Road 10 address in Picton where an individual was in a residence causing damage. The individual lit a rug on fire before leaving on foot.
As a result of the investigation, a 25-year old male from Picton, was charged with the following offences
- Mischief under $5000
- Unlawfully in a dwelling house
- Arson
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date in Picton.
