After a slow start in February the Hastings Prince Edward Health Unit’s COVID 19 information line has been humming as of late.
Health unit staff answered 1,904 calls on the dedicated help line in the week of March 16. So far this week the numbers have been similar.
Callers receive answers and advice about the virus and can be assessed for their risk of having it.
The busiest one day call volume occurred on Sunday March 16, when 494 people availed themselves of the service.
The health unit says call volume seems to spike after major news announcements about COVID 19.
Before calling people are urged to visit HPEPH website where many answers to questions regarding COVID 19 can be found.
