Quinte Health Care is facing a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) and asked the community to help support all health care staff.
Last week, the Quinte Home Builders’ Association wanted to do their part in the fight against COVID-19.
The QHBA team began contacting each one of their members to make a plea for donations of goggles, face shields, masks, gloves and gowns.
“We knew some of the much needed PPE issued in our industry and as a result of a call to action to our members, we were able to collect a substantial amount of items from their generous donations”, said Ruth Estwick, Chief Executive Officer of the QHBA.
“Some members had already donated PPE directly to Quinte Health Care but quite a few responded with much needed items to help front line staff in the fight against Covid-19. We understood the urgent need for this equipment for health care and wanted to help QHC in a way that would best support our community.”
Estwick and her team travelled from Belleville to Picton, Brighton and Stirling to collect these items and connected with the Belleville General Hospital Foundation to make the donation.
