At the direction of Dr. Piotr Oglaza, Medical Officer of Health at Hastings Prince Edward Public Health, the County of Prince Edward is closing all playground equipment in municipally operated parks, effective immediately.
The municipality is taking this measure to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus through playground equipment and other surfaces. Parents and children are asked to respect the closures and the signage in place.
The municipality is urging residents to stay home as much as possible and avoid close contact with people outside of your immediate families. If you are in a park or walking along the Millennium Trail or Wellington Beach, please keep a physical distance of at least 2 metres (6.5 feet) between you and others.
