Ontario Power Generation says it is donating up to 575,000 masks to help protect front-line health care workers in the province during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The province’s largest electricity generator says it will ship 250,000 surgical and 50,000 N-95 masks to the Ministry of Health this week to be distributed where they are most needed.
OPG says it will keep 250,000 surgical and 15,000 N-95 masks for future donation.
It says the masks are part of its inventory of personal protective equipment needed to ensure essential workers can keep the lights on in an emergency, but that inventory exceeds its needs at this time.
