Two Quinte West residents are facing charges after an incident early this morning (Tuesday) in Trenton.
Quinte West OPP say an officer observed a known prohibited driver operating a vehicle around 2 a.m. on Dundas Street West.
The driver and passenger attempted to elude police by entering a downtown store.
The officer arrested both suspects but during the arrest, a physical confrontation took place and resulted in one of the suspects being taken to hospital.
Matthew Tyler Cole, 33, is charged with driving while prohibited, driving while under suspension, disarming a peace officer, assaulting and obstructing a peace officer.
He was held for a bail hearing today in Belleville court.
Robyn Kitchen, 29, is facing assaulting and obstructing a peace officer.
Kitchen has a court date in July.
