Belleville Mayor Mitch Panciuk says city officials have been working hard to make sure residents will still be provided with all their city services.
That includes services like, water, electricity, gas, emergency services and public transportation.
Speaking with the Mix Morning Crew, he said they’re also trying to ease burdens in other ways.
Staff are still working but practising social distancing in doing so.
City Hall remains closed to the general public.
Panciuk said he wants residents to know that the city’s elected officials are here for them.
While several municipalities within Ontario have declared States of Emergency, Panciuk says they are not at that point yet.
Mayor Panciuk says they are monitoring the situation on an hourly basis but at this point are confident they’re able to maintain operational service levels without declaring a state of emergency.
