Belleville Police Service responded to 55 calls for service from March 21, 2020 at 5 a.m. to March 22, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Arrest on Warrants
On March 21, 2020 shortly after 8 p.m., police were called to an east end residence with regards to a man who appeared to be lurking between the house and a vehicle in the driveway. Upon police arrival the man was located a short distance away and identified himself as a 38-year-old Belleville resident. It was found that Belleville Police held warrants for the man’s arrest in relation to several charges including failing to attend for court, taking a motor vehicle without consent, possession stolen property, assault, theft of a motor vehicle and failing to comply with his undertaking.
It was also found that Belleville Police were seeking another arrest warrant for charges stemming a separate investigation that included charges of disqualified driving, dangerous driving, flight from police and additional charges of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, mischief, assault with a weapon and two counts of uttering threats. He is being held in custody to be brought before a Justice of The Peace for a bail hearing via video remand on March 22.
On March 22, 2020 at approximately 2 a.m., Belleville Police were contacted by The Prince Edward County OPP with relation to a man they had in custody on domestic-related assault charges who was to be released but that Belleville Police had arrest warrants for. The man was transported to Belleville Police and is currently being held in custody to appear before a Justice of The Peace for a bail hearing via video remand on charges stemming from warrants which include four counts of breaching his probation.
