About 200 students who could not leave Loyalist College before a school-imposed deadline, will have a place to stay.
Ryan Williams of Williams Hotels says they are working with the college to provide rooms for all of them.
Williams says students are across hotels in the city and will be there for a week at least.
Ontario Minister of Immigration MPP Todd Smith says not all students on the move are international but some are heading home. Others have found alternative arrangements in the community and some of the international students have also found arrangements in the GTA.
College President Dr. Anne Marie Vaughan says if a case of COVID-19 hit the college, containing it would have been difficult.
Classes have been suspended until the end of the semester. Students are to have vacated college grounds by this weekend.
