The Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair has reluctantly decided to cancel this year’s science fair on April 18, 2020.
In order to respect the preventative measures for COVID-19 being put in place by the Ontario and Canadian government, the cancellation of the Canada Wide Science Fair and the projected trajectory of the virus, it has become untenable to hold the fair.
Together with educational, health and government officials, the Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair is committed to the health and safety of all those involved. The Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair will continue to encourage, foster enthusiasm, develop self-confidence, inspire and support an interest in science, technology and engineering for the youth in our area and to provide our students with the opportunity and skills to foster a lifelong love of science.
The QRSTF committee appreciates all the work completed to this point and expresses its disappointment that the Science Fair must be cancelled. We understand the importance of working together to overcome this crisis, to develop strategies to safeguard all and come back stronger.
We will turn our commitment, interest and enthusiasm to make QRSTF 2021 an outstanding event!
