Management of Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg have tightened restrictions on visitors to the hospital, joining other health care organizations in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
Only people visiting patients in palliative care or patients very seriously ill will be allowed and even then only on a case by case basis.
Personal partners or coaches involved in childbirth will also be allowed entrance to Northumberland Hills.
All non-essential or elective services will be postponed and staff will be contacting those that will have their procedures delayed.
