The Belleville Police Service responded to 74 calls from March 16, 2020 at 5 a.m. to March 17, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Arrest warrant executed
On March 16, 2020 at 2:25 p.m., a city man was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant in the south-west area of the city. The 24-year-old was wanted on charges including two counts of assault, and four counts of failing to comply with probation orders. This all stemmed from an incident which occurred earlier in the week on March 11. Police are not releasing the identity of the man at this time, as there are further charges pending from this investigation. He is being held in custody for a bail hearing.
Theft investigation concludes
On March 16, 2020 at 4:30 p.m., a city man turned himself in to police on an outstanding arrest warrant for two counts of theft under $5,000. Through investigation, the man was identified as being responsible for two separate thefts at a business location on North Front Street on separate dates in the month of February this year. Unable to locate the man, a warrant was granted. Thirty-four-year-old Aaron Christopher Gray was arrested on the warrant, processed, and released shortly after on an undertaking to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on May 21, 2020.
