Central Hastings Ontario Provincial Police have made an arrest in connection with a hit and run in Madoc Saturday night.
OPP say a 10-year-old boy was struck by a car on Elgin Street around 8:20 p.m. on March 14.
The driver left the scene.
The youth was taken by ambulance to Belleville and was then transferred to a Kingston hospital for assessment and observation.
He was discharged with minor injuries.
Police investigation, including a social media appeal, resulted in the arrest of 23-year-old Shawn Bellas of Madoc on Sunday, March 15.
Bellas is charged with Fail to Stop at Accident resulting in Bodily Harm, Operate a Motor Vehicle without Insurance and Drive Motor Vehicle with no currently validated permit.
He is scheduled to appear in court May 21.
